Detectives investigating a sexual assault in the memorial garden
in Congleton on 10th June have arrested a 32-year-old local
man on suspicion of rape.
He has since been released on police bail pending further
enquiries.
Police were called at around 7am on Sunday 10th
June after a 27-year-old local woman reported an incident
in the memorial garden off Lawton Street in the town.
Officers arrested the man yesterday afternoon.
