Congleton men behind bars after being caught red handed

Two prolific thieves are back behind bars after being caught in the act on CCTV .

On Tuesday 3rd July 2012, Robert Simon Hughes (27) formerly of Parnell Square and Benjamin Martin Kelly (25), formerly of Harper Grove, appeared at South Cheshire Magistrates Court.

They both admitted two counts of vehicle interference and were sentenced to 10 weeks imprisonment each.

The pair were caught on CCTV trying the handles of two cars in Ennerdale Drive, Congleton on 26th June 2012.

They were later identified by officers, arrested and later charged with the offences.

DC Dave Newton said:

The police will continue to monitor, arrest and place prolific offenders in front of the courts, where they will be convicted and returned back to prison.

This has given closure to the victims of this crime and offered reassurance back to the local community.
