Man bailed following serious collision in Chester

A man has been bailed in connection with a serious road traffic collision in Chester.

The 31-year-old, from Chester, attended a police station in the city this morning (3rd July 2012) where he was arrested on suspicion of section 18 assault, criminal damage, dangerous driving, failing to stop after a road traffic collision, failing to report a road traffic collision and driving whilst unfit.

He helped police with their enquiries and has subsequently been bailed until August pending further enquiries.

The incident was reported on the morning of Sunday 1 July. Police and other emergency services were called to the scene on Tarvin Road at 6.37am. The collision involved two cars, which had collided with the Bridge Inn pub.

Two men and a woman were taken to the Countess of Chester Hospital to be treated for their injuries. Nobody at the pub was hurt but the premises remains closed until repairs are made.
