Disclosure of Information for Family Court Proceedings
The Force Nominated Disclosure Officer will be responsible for receiving and validating requests for disclosure of information for family proceedings.
They will carry out various checks on Cheshire Police databases, the Police National Computer system and other relevant and related databases / systems in order to extract the relevant and accurate information.
Where appropriate and necessary the disclosure officer will attend meetings and consult with area representatives and/or the Force Solicitor in consideration of the determination of a request.
Making a request
Should a solicitor wish to make a request for information relating to Family Court Proceedings, they should first obtain the typed/stamped court order requesting Cheshire Constabulary to release information for Family Court proceedings and send it, together with a full covering letter to:

Requests for information must be made as far in advance of court proceedings as possible. We advise a minimum of 10 workings days required to complete these requests.
Should information be disclosed, we will request payment by invoice shortly after. For fees charged by Cheshire Constabulary please refer to the Fees and Charges Handbook.
