Interpretation and Translation

With effect from 1 April 2009, Applied Language Solutions have been the provider of Face to Face Interpreting, Telephone Interpreting, British Sign Language Interpreting and Translation services to Cheshire Police Authority under the North West Collaborative Procurement Hub (NWCPH) Framework. The NWCPH is now known as the North West Collaborative Commercial Agency (NW CCA).  The framework was established by the NWCPH as lead Authority for North West NHS Trusts and North West Police Forces for an initial period 1 November 2008 – 31 October 2010, with the option to extend to 31 October 2012. OJEU Contract Notice 2008/S 46-064030 and OJEU Contract Award Notice 2008/S 221-293813 refer.

North West Police forces conducted a mini-competition selection process between the five suppliers who had been awarded framework status to supply Face to Face Interpreting, Telephone Interpreting, British Sign Language Interpreting and Translation, with Applied Language Solutions being selected to provide a fully managed service.  The service is provided under a Service Level Agreement (SLA) against the Framework.  The SLA commenced 1 April 2009 for an initial period to 31 March 2010 with the option to extend in monthly increments to October 2010.  Subject to the Framework status, there is an option to extend for up to two years subject to annual review to October 2012. The option to extend the SLA to October 2010 has already been taken.  The Option to extend the SLA to 31 October 2011 has now been taken. The Option to extend the SLA to 31 October 2012 has now also been taken.

We migrated over to the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) Framework for Interpreting and Translation services on Monday 15 October 2012. This framework has been established for the Police, Courts, Prisons and other MoJ organisations. Applied Language Solutions (ALS) will remain as our supplier. Capita Translation and Interpreting (formerly Applied Language Solutions [ALS] ) are the supplier of interpreting and translation services.
