Appeal after burglary at Lower Peover pub Date published: 9th January 2018 3.27pm

Northwich officers are appealing for information from the public after a heartless thief a stole a charity box from a pub in Lower Peover.

The incident occurred sometime between 11pm on Sunday 7 January and 11am on Monday 8 January when an unknown offender forced entry into the Crown Inn on Crown Lane, Lower Peover.

Once inside the premises the suspect conducted a search of the building and stole a quantity of cash from the till along with a Marie Curie charity box, which was heavily laden with donations from the local community.

Police Constable Andy Mullin said: “To steal money from a charity box is a particularly callous theft and we are committed to doing all that we can to trace the person responsible.

“Lower Peover is a small tight knit community and incidents of this nature are rare. As part of our ongoing enquiries I’m keen to hear from anyone who believes that they have any information which could assist our investigation.”
