Appeal after serious assault in Widnes Date published: 31st October 2017 4.25pm

Detectives from Widnes are appealing for witnesses after a man was left with a severe facial injury following an assault.

The incident happened at 9.45pm on Monday 30 October at Crow Wood Park (aka The Bongs). A 28-year-old man was cycling through the park when he was attacked from behind by up to four men dressed in dark clothing. He sustained a slash wound to his face.

One of the men is described as white, in his early 20s, of slim build with short brown hair.

Detective Sergeant Henderson Pierre said: “This assault has left the victim with a nasty injury to his jaw. We are appealing for anyone who saw anything suspicious or unusual near to the park around that time to come forward.
