Appeal following assault in Runcorn Old Town Date published: 15th November 2017 2.56pm

Officers from Runcorn Local Policing Unit are appealing for information from the public after a man was assaulted in Runcorn Old Town.

The incident occurred shortly before 11.30pm on Saturday 11 November when the victim, a 24-year-old local man, was involved in a disturbance with a second man in The Royal Hotel, High Street.

During the incident the victim was hit in the face with a glass and sustained a number of facial wounds. The man was taken to Warrington District General Hospital and has since been discharged.

Sergeant Steve Watson said: “Investigations in relation to this incident are ongoing and we are currently following a number of lines of enquiry.

“As part of this I am also keen to hear from anyone who believes that they may have witnessed the incident, or anyone who believes that they may have seen anything suspicious.

“I would ask anyone with any information that could assist the investigation to contact us on 101 quoting incident number 1050 of 11/11/2017.”
