Appeal following Birchwood robbery Date published: 25th April 2017 9.08am

Warrington officers are appealing for information following a robbery in Birchwood.

Shortly before 3.30am on Friday 21 April between four and five unknown men forced entry into a property on Killingworth Lane, Birchwood, via the front door.

After gaining access the men then assaulted the homeowner, a 56-year-old man, and demanded that he handed over the keys to his black Audi RS4, which was parked on the driveway. After getting hold of the keys all of the men then made off from the address in the Audi.

All of the offenders are described a men, at the time of the incident they were all wearing dark clothing and had their faces covered. One of the men was wearing a grey flat cap.

Investigating Officer Detective Constable Daryl Gavin said: “This was a serious incident and we’re committed to doing all that we can to trace the people responsible so that they can be brought to justice.

“The victim in this case has been left extremely shaken, suffering heavy bruising to his face and a possible broken nose as a result of the incident.

“As part of this investigation I’m keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident and believes that they may have seen anything suspicious.”
