Appeal following Brook Street assault Date published: 26th September 2017 3.33pm

Officers are appealing for information from the public after man was assaulted on Brook Street, Macclesfield.

At approximately 8.05pm on Monday 25 September the victim, a 31-year-old local man, ran into a Brook Street pub closely followed by a second man who was armed with a machete.

The man, who was dressed all in black and wearing a white mask, then attempted to attack the victim before fleeing the scene.

Following the incident the victim was taken to Macclesfield District General Hospital having sustained relatively minor injuries to his arm and knee. He remains in hospital at the current time.

Detective Sergeant “Investigations into this incident are in the very early stages and we are following a number of lines of enquiry.

“As part of this, I’m keen to hear from anyone who was in the Brook Street or Silk Road area at the time this incident occurred and believes they may have witnessed anything suspicious.”
