Appeal following burglary at Northwich business premises Date published: 10th January 2017 4.13pm

Officers are appealing for information after burglars targeted a Northwich cash and carry.

At approximately 8.35pm on Friday 6 January 2016 at least four offenders entered Booker Cash and Carry on Manchester Road, Northwich, after breaking a hole through an exterior wall.

Once inside the store the offenders attempted to access the cigarette storeroom, but were unable to gain access. Having been unsuccessful with the cigarettes the offenders then left the premises with a quantity of alcohol.

PC Matt Uren from Northwich Local Policing Unit said: “This investigation is in its early stages and we’re currently following a number of lines enquiry, including CCTV analysis and speaking to local residents. This is the second time that this store has been targeted in the past two weeks and we are currently establishing whether these two incidents are linked.

“The CCTV footage from the store shows that at least four offenders were present at the time of the incident, all of whom were wearing dark clothing and balaclavas.

“I’d like to appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time of this incident and believes that they may have witnessed anything suspicious to contact the team here at Northwich.

“I’m particularly keen to hear from anyone who witnessed any activity in the car park area outside Brookfield Business Centre, as we believe that the offenders accessed the site from this area.”

Anyone with any information in relation to the incident is asked to contact Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 723 of 6/1/2017. Information can also be left anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Investigations in relation to the burglary that occurred at Booker on 28/12/2016 are currently on-going.
