Appeal following fatal collision near Ellesmere Port Date published: 3rd April 2017 10.13am

A 30-year-old man has died following a collision in Childer Thornton, near Ellesmere Port.

At approximately 1pm on Sunday 2 April officers were called to reports of a collision on the A550 Welsh Road, Childer Thornton, near Ellesmere Port.

Officers swiftly attended the scene and found that the collision involved two vehicles, a white Volkswagen Golf and a blue Suzuki motorbike.

The rider of the motorbike, a 30-year-old man from Birkenhead, was taken to Arrow Park hospital with serious injuries. Sadly, despite the efforts of the emergency services, the man was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital.

The man’s next of kin has been informed and they are currently being supported by specialist family liaison officers.

Investigation Officer Sergeant Paul Marsh said: “The A550, Welsh Road, is a busy road and as part of this investigation I’m keen to hear from anyone who believes that they may have witnessed the collision.”
