Appeal following fatal motorway collision Date published: 22nd May 2017 11.09am

Cheshire Police is appealing for information from the public following a fatal collision on the M6.

At 10.45am on Saturday 20 May officers were called to reports of a collision on the M6 northbound, approximately 1 mile prior to junction 18.

Officers swiftly attended the scene and found that the collision involved a Mercedes Large Goods Vehicle and a Blue Harley Davidson Motorcycle.

Sadly, the ride of the motorcycle, a 53-year-old man from Midway, Derbyshire, was pronounced dead at the scene; his next of kin have been informed and they are being supported by specialist officers. The driver of the large goods vehicle was uninjured.
