Appeal following robbery near Sankey Valley Park Date published: 4th July 2017 12.35pm

Warrington officers are appealing for information from the public following a robbery in a car park for Sankey Valley Park.

At approximately 1.15am on Saturday 1 July the victim, a local woman, and her friend were sat in a parked car on the Waterways Car Park at Sankey Valley Park when they were approached by an unknown man.

The man approached the driver’s side of the vehicle and asked for a lighter, before threatening the two women and demanding that they handed over all of their money.
Both of the women gave the man all of their loose change, he then fled the scene towards Sankey Valley Park.

The suspect is described as a white man, approximately 5ft 7 inches tall, aged 22 to 30 and of medium build. He was wearing a dark jacket, dark trousers, dark trainers and a black baseball cap.

Detective Constable Alison McLoughlin said: “Investigations into this incident are currently on-going and we are following a number of lines of enquiry.

“As part of the investigation I’m keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident and believes that they may have witnessed anything suspicious.”
