Appeal for information following aggravated burglary in Widnes Date published: 6th June 2017 10.24am

Officers in Widnes are appealing for information following an aggravated burglary at an address on Terrace Road, Widnes.

At around 10:45pm on Thursday 25 May 2017, two men entered the property threatening the occupant with a machete knife demanding money.

The victim was struck with the knife and sustained serious injuries to his arms and legs. He then tried to fight back before the offenders fled the scene.

One of the men is described as around 5’4” – 5’ 5” tall of medium build and in his early 30s. He had dark skin and was wearing a scarf which hid his face.

The other man is described as being 5’7” tall of medium build and in his early 30s. He also had dark skin and was wearing a scarf which his hid face.

Detective Constable Jordan Trentini said: “I am keen to trace the men responsible for this incident and as part of the investigation I’m appealing to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time, and believes that they may have seen anything suspicious.

“We believe that one of the offenders sustained injuries as a result of the incident and if anyone knows of the identity of these men please come forward.

“We are currently following a number of lines of enquiry and if anyone has any information that can help with our enquiries please contact Cheshire police on 101 quoting incident number 1222 of 25 May 2017."
