Detectives are appealing for information following an assault in Widnes.

At around 8:30pm on Friday 10 February, a man was travelling on a bus from Runcorn when he was involved in a verbal altercation with three men. All four men were asked to leave the bus at the bus stop outside Morrisons on Greenoaks Way, Widnes.

At this stage, this appears to be an isolated incident and our investigation is continuing. The victim was seriously injured and has been left extremely shaken by his ordeal. We are doing all we can to ensure those responsible and traced and dealt with.
