Officers are appealing for witnesses following a robbery at a garden centre in Warrington.

On Wednesday, 15 March shortly before midnight a white van and two cars – including a black For Fiesta – pulled up outside Bents Garden Centre on Warrington Road in Glazebury and attempted to smash their way into the shop.

When police attended, one of the cars rammed into the officers vehicle and several men armed with baseball bats threatened the officer. He was left badly shaken and is currently being supported by his supervision.

The driver of the van is believed to have left the scene in a red Volkswagen Golf. The other vehicles also left the scene, however the van was abandoned at the car park.

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or have any information is asked to contact Cheshire Police immediately on 101 quoting incident number 1064 of 15 March.
