Appeal for witnesses following a robbery at a property on Desoto Road in Widnes Date published: 4th January 2017 11.15am

Officers are appealing for witnesses to come forward following a robbery in Widnes.

At approximately 19:15 on Thursday, December 15, four men are believed to have broken into a property on West Bank Dock Estate on Desoto Road.

Two of the offenders are thought to have used a ladder to smash the office window to gain access while the other two waited outside. After entering the office, they were confronted by a member of staff who was assaulted. The offenders left the scene after taking a quantity of cash.

One man is believed to be around 6ft in height with his face covered and wearing dark clothing. The second man is around 5ft10, wearing a blue and black puffer jacket and a hat and snood which covered his face. The other man was wearing a motorcross type helmet and the fourth was wearing a camouflage coat with his face covered.

Anyone who may have any information to help police with the investigation is asked to call 101 quoting incident number 866 of 15 December.
