Appeal for witnesses following a robbery in Ellesmere Port Date published: 22nd February 2017 5.37pm

Detectives are appealing for information following a robbery in Ellesmere Port.

At around 6pm on Monday, 13 February, a man was walking to his car which was parked in a car park off Naylor Road, Ellesmere Port. He cut across the football pitch near to the car park when he was approached by a man.

The man threatened the victim, demanded cash and repeatedly punched him until he gave him his wallet. The man then made further demands for him to hand over his phone and car keys, but the victim managed to flee the scene and raise the alarm.

The victim, a 28-year-old man from Warrington sustained minor injuries to his face.

The offender is described as white, 6’ 1” tall, of medium build, has short dark hair and is in his 20s. He was wearing a black waterproof jacket, white t-shirt and spoke with a Liverpool accent.

DC Nadine Sturgess said: “We are currently carrying out a number of lines of enquiry in a bid to trace those involved. I am appealing for anyone who may have been in the area at the time and witnessed what happened, or has any information which could assist with our enquiries, to come forward.”
