Appeal for witnesses following a sneak burglary in Longford, Warrington Date published: 5th May 2017 9.24am

Officers are appealing for witnesses following a sneak burglary at a house in Longford, Warrington.

Between 10pm on Wednesday, 3 May and 7am on Thursday, 4 May, offenders have entered the home on Northway through the back garden.

While the occupier was asleep the offenders stole a packet of cigarettes and pet store supplies before leaving the address.

Constable Joe Davies, of Warrington Local Policing Unit, said: “I want to appeal to anyone who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously but to also remind residents to ensure they protect their homes from burglars.

“With the lighter nights it can leave property more vulnerable to opportunists looking to take advantage therefore I would urge everyone to ensure that windows and doors are closed and locked with personal items stored away out of sight.

“By being extra vigilant it will greatly help householders in reducing their chances of becoming a victim.”

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 189 of 4 May. Information can also be passed on anonymously by calling 0800 555 111.
