Appeal for witnesses following an assault and theft in Crewe Date published: 13th March 2017 8.19am

Officers in Crewe are appealing for witnesses after a man was assaulted before his phone was stolen.

At approximately 3:30am on Wednesday, 1 March the man, aged 19, was walking with his friend from Nantwich Bowers Row towards the High Street.

As they neared to where it narrows into a ginnel they were set up on by around six to eight men who were wearing hoodies. The victim was hit to the side of the head and one of the offenders ran off with his phone.

The victim suffered minor injuries.

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident take place or have any information to help officers identify the men is asked to contact Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident 597 of 1 March.
