Appeal for witnesses following an attempted robbery at service station in Weaverham Date published: 6th January 2017 2.44pm

Witnesses are being urged to come forward following an attempted robbery at a service station on Northwich Road in Weaverham.

On Thursday, December 5, at around 23:40, two men are believed to have walked into the store shortly before it was due to close and threatened an employee behind the counter while holding a large knife.

As they demanded the employee to open the till the panic alarm was activated which caused both men to run out of the store empty handed in the direction of Church Road.

One of the men is described as being white, of a slim build and around 5ft 10 in height. He was wearing a dark black woolen beanie hat, a scarf which was covering his face, a black jacket, black trainers with grey patches and black gloves.

The second man is described as being of a slim build, around 5ft 10 in height and wearing a dark jacket with the hood pulled up to cover his face, dark bottoms and black gloves.
