Appeal to locate stolen long case clock in Sandbach Date published: 11th June 2019 1.55pm

Detectives have released a photograph of a longcase clock they are looking to locate following a burglary near Sandbach.

At around 10.45pm on Wednesday 5 June officers were called to reports of an incident at a house on the outskirts of Sandbach.

Officers attended the scene and found that unknown persons had forced entry into the address and searched the hallway area.

The offenders then fled the scene a short time later after activating an alarm at the property, taking with them a 19th century longcase clock.

Detective Constable Liz Rankin said: “Enquires in relation to the burglary are ongoing and as part of the investigation I’m keen to hear from anyone who believes they may know the whereabouts of the clock.

“The clock is of great sentimental value to the victims and we are committed to doing all that we can to find it and locate the people responsible.

“We have already spoken to a number of antiques dealers across the county and we are now asking the public for their support.

“I’d urge anyone any information in relation to the whereabouts of the clock, or anyone with any information about the burglary, to contact the team here at Crewe on 101 quoting IML 420640.”
