Cheshire Police have launched an investigation after callous thieves targeted a charity shop in Northwich.
Sometime between 5.30pm on Saturday 23 September and 8.00am on Monday 25 September an unknown offender, or offenders, forced entry into Age UK charity shop, Witton Street, Northwich after smashing a window at the front of the store.
Once inside, they searched the store and stole a quantity of cash and a Samsung Galaxy J3 mobile phone, they then left the scene.
Chief Inspector Simon Meegan said: “It’s sad to see that the offenders in these cases have stooped so low as to rob a charity shop and we are committed to doing everything we can to trace the people responsible.
“Age UK is one of the UKs leading charities is the country’s dedicated to helping people make the most of later life and their work touches on the lives of thousands of people; including many residents in the local community, which is what makes this incident so despicable.
“I urge anyone with any information this incident to contact the team here at Northwich so that those responsible can be brought to justice.”
