CCTV images released following an armed robbery in Warrington Date published: 31st January 2017 2.16pm

Officers have released CCTV images of a man they would like to speak to in relation to an armed robbery in Warrington.

Shortly before 6.30am on Friday 13 January, one man entered McColl’s convenience store on Greenwood Crescent, Warrington, through the main entrance.

Once inside the man approached staff and produced what appeared to be a handgun, demanding access to the safe.

The offender was informed that they were unable to open the safe, so he then demanded access to the till. After taking cash from the till, along with a quantity of tobacco, the offender then left the store via the main entrance.

The offender is described as being between 5ft 4 and 5ft 6 in height and wearing a high visibility vest with what appears to be the word DONK written on the back. He wore dark clothing including a blue hoody up over his head and a black scarf covering his face. The man was believed to be carrying a handgun, although it was not discharged and it has not yet been established if the gun was real or an imitation.

Officers are keen to hear from anyone who was in the Greenwood Crescent area at the time the incident took place and believes they may have seen an offender matching the description.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 130 of 13 January.
