Family issue tribute following fail-to-stop collision in Holmes Chapel Date published: 20th March 2017 5.44pm

The family of a man who died in a fail-to-stop collision have paid tribute to him.

Brian Bailey, aged 77, from Holmes Chapel, died following the incident in London Road on Friday evening.

In a statement his family said:

“Brian was a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was a quiet man who kept himself to himself, but was a funny character who was well loved and known in his village of Holmes Chapel. Brian enjoyed his garden, collecting war memorabilia and looking after his Jack Russell dog Roxy.”

The collision took place at 6.30pm on Friday 17 March outside the library. Enquiries are ongoing and officers continue to appeal for any information, which could assist with their enquiries.

On Saturday 18 March, a 27-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident. He has subsequently been bailed pending further enquiries.
