Officers are reminding the public to be extra vigilant following a number of thefts from vehicles in the Sandbach area.

Sergeant Claire Lloyd, of Sandbach Police, said: “During the last week we have seen a noticeable increase in the amount of vans being broken into overnight and tools being stolen.

“It is really important people remove any items from their vehicles overnight and always ensure they are locked to prevent them from targeted by thieves.

“I want to take this opportunity to reassure the local community that this is not a regular crime in Sandbach. If you have seen anyone acting suspiciously in the area please do come forward and report it to us.”

Anyone who has any information or may have seen anyone acting suspiciously is asked to contact Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident 128 of 11 October.

Information can also be passed on anonymously by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
