Police investigate armed robbery at Runcorn shop Date published: 30th March 2017 11.26am

Police are investigating an armed robbery at a shop in Linkway, Runcorn.

Shortly before 7pm on 29 March 2017 three men entered Heron Foods and threatened staff. One of the men attacked the till with a hammer before all three fled with the till in the direction of Thorn Road.

A member of staff suffered a minor injury during the incident, but she did not require hospital treatment.

The first man is described as 19, 5ft 10ins, and of slim build. The lower part of his face was covered with a scarf.

The second man is described as 19, 5ft 8ins tall and of slim build.  There is no description of the third man.

DS Rob McLoughlin said: “We are conducting a number of enquiries including CCTV and house to house, and would urge anyone who saw suspicious activity in the area before and after the robbery to contact police.”
