Police investigating an armed robbery in Widnes are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

At 9.30pm on Tuesday, 29 August three offenders armed with a knife entered a convenience store on Ditchfield Road and threatened staff as they stole a quantity of cash, alcohol and cigarettes.

Offenders then left the store through an alleyway leading into Mayfield Avenue.
All three offenders are described as being aged in their late teens to early twenties, wearing casual clothing and with scouse aceents.

Detective Sergeant Henderson Pierre, of Widnes Local Policing Unit, said: “I would encourage anyone who may have seen anyone matching these descriptions around the time the offence took place or afterwards along Mayfield Avenue to come and speak to officers.

“Any information would greatly help us in identifying and locating these offenders as quickly as possible.”
