Police investigating Runcorn assault appeal for witnesses Date published: 11th August 2017 2.56pm

Police investigating an assault in Runcorn are urging witnesses to come forward.

At around 4.35pm on Thursday, 10 August a 45-year-old man was attacked by a group of males near to a supermarket on The Ridgeway in Murdishaw.

The victim suffered serious injuries and was taken to Warrington General Hospital.

Detective Constable John Verry, of Runcorn Local Policing Unit, said: “This was a vicious and targeted daylight attack on a lone man which resulted in the victim having to go to hospital to be treated.

I would urge anyone who saw the assault and has not yet spoken to officers to contact me.”
