Police investigating stolen car from Hale Village Date published: 26th June 2017 4.42pm

Officers are urging witnesses to come forward after a car was stolen from outside a house in Hale Village.

Shortly after 3am on Sunday, 25 June, offenders stole keys from inside the address on Ellwood Close before taking the silver Mercedes b180 hatchback from the driveway.

Detective Sergeant Marc Roberts, of Widnes Local Policing Unit, said: "If anyone saw any suspicious behaviour in the area around the time the car was stolen please get in touch with officers so we can return it to its owner. I would also appeal directly to anyone who may have seen the vehicle involved either driving in the area where the incident occurred or if it has been left out of place in the street.

“I would also encourage people to ensure their property is fully safe and secure from thieves by making sure their doors and windows are closed and locked.

“It is also important to never leave keys on display where thieves can see them. Keep car keys in a safe place at home out of sight and away from windows and doors.”

Anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity in the area around the time the incident took place or has any information is asked to contact Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident 136 of 25 June.

Information can also be passed on anonymously by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
