Police investigating a vehicle deliberately set alight in High Legh are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

Between 00:25 and 00:45 in the early hours of Friday, 30 June a man approaches the corner junction at West Hall Court armed with a brick/stone and throws it through the rear window. He then ignites the vehicle using an accelerant.

The man then runs off with his jacket having also caught on fire. He is described as being of a large build, wearing a grey tracksuit with a thick jacket and had a distinctive walk.

PC Nic Dobson, of Macclesfield Local Policing Unit, said: “I want to appeal to not only anyone who may have seen a man acting suspiciously but who may have noticed burn injuries to the man’s arms and upper body.”

Anyone who has any information is asked to contact Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 38 of 30 June.
