Police release CCTV images following Runcorn shop robbery Date published: 19th July 2017 12.24pm

Police in Runcorn have released CCTV images of a man they would like to speak to following a robbery at a shop in Murdishaw.

At 1.55pm on 15 June 2017 a man was challenged by staff who suspected him of shoplifting at a store in Ridgeway West. As the staff tried to prevent him from leaving he pulled out a knife and fled the scene.

The suspect is described as approximately 50-years-old, about 6ft tall with a receding hairline and grey hair. He is of slim build and was wearing a checked shirt and a high vis jacket. He was carrying a large red ‘bag for life’.

DC Katie Wardle said: “The staff were left shocked by the incident, but thankfully were unharmed.

“I would appeal to anyone who recognises this man or has any information that may help to contact me so that I can progress with my enquiries and bring the offender before the courts.”
