A 51-year-old man from Ellesmere Port has been charged by police investigating sexual abuse at a sea cadet unit in Chester.

Ian Harrison, from Staffin Avenue, Ellesmere Port, has been charged with six counts of indecent assault against children under 16, three counts of indecent assault against children over 16 and two counts of indecent assault against adults.

The charges relate to two victims and the alleged offences took place between 1993 and 2004. They were aged between 13 and 17 years old at the time. He is due to appear at Chester Magistrates Court on Wednesday, December 14.
