A51 re-opens following serious collision Date published: 22nd July 2015 8.15pm

The A51 Tarvin Road has now re-opened in both directions following a collision earlier today, Wednesday 22nd July.

The collision occurred at approximately 1.45pm on the A51, Tarvin Road, between the Tarvin Roundabout and the Stamford Bridge traffic lights. The collision involved three cars, a Grey Peugeot 5008, a Red BMW and a Grey Citroen Belingo.

A total of 11 people were treated at the scene by North West Ambulance Service. Nine of those were taken to Leighton Hospital and the Countess of Chester Hospital via ambulance and are believed to have sustained minor injuries. The driver of the BMW and a passenger from the vehicle were both airlifted to hospital with serious injuries.

Enquiries into the incident are currently ongoing and anyone with any information in relation to the collision is asked to contact Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 390 of 22/7/15.
