Appeal for information following serious assault, Crewe Date published: 22nd June 2017 4.03pm

Detectives from Crewe Local Policing Unit are appealing for information after a man was seriously assaulted in Crewe.

Around 10pm on Saturday 17 June the victim, an 18-year-old man, was walking through Joey the Swan Park with his friend when he was seriously assaulted by a group of what is believed to be eight or nine men.

As a result of the incident the victim suffered serious facial injuries.

Investigating Officer DS Steven Smith said: “This was a serious assault and we are keen to trace those responsible so they can be brought to justice. The victim has suffered serious injuries and has been left extremely shaken.

“We are currently following a number of lines of enquiry and as part of the investigation I’m keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident and believes that they may have witnessed anything suspicious.”
