Cannabis farm discovered in Runcorn Date published: 19th May 2017 12.49pm

Officers from Runcorn Local Policing Unit have discovered a large scale cannabis farm after they executed a drugs warrant in Weston Point.

The warrant was executed at an address on Castner Avenue, Runcorn, at approximately 8am this morning (Friday 19 May).

Whilst carrying out a detailed search of the premises officers discovered a significant quantity of cannabis plants.

An 18-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of the production of cannabis and is currently assisting officers with their enquiries.

PC Lucy Kennedy said: “We know the negative impact that illegal drug use and supply can have in the local community and it is an issue we take extremely seriously. Information from members of the public is vital in the fight against drug related crime and members of the public can rest assured that our efforts in tackling drug related crime will continue. Anyone with any information about drug related crime in Runcorn is urged to come forward and report it."

Anyone with any information that can help officers with their enquiries is asked to contact Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 115 of 19 May 2017.
