Closure Order issued in Widnes Date published: 3rd April 2017 12.14pm

Widnes officers have issued a closure order as a result of anti-social behaviour and drugs related activity.

The order was issued on Friday 31 March at an address on Margaret Court, Widnes, under the Crime and Policing Act 2014

The order was made after officers received numerous reports over recent months of criminal activity at the address, including drug dealing and anti-social behaviour.

As a result of the order the tenant of the address, a 53-year-old man, has been evicted from the property and all windows and doors will be boarded up for a period of at least three months.

Anyone who enters the property during that time is committing an offence and can be arrested.

Constable Upile Mtitimila, of Widnes Local Policing Unit, said: “Were here for communities, and this Closure Order shows that we listen to and act upon concerns raised by local residents.

“The activities at this address had a significant impact on the local community, and I hope that they are pleased with the outcome of this case.

“We are committed to doing all that we can to keep our communities safe and I urge anyone with any information into criminal activity in their local communities to contact us on 101. Information can also be reported anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
