Closure Order issued to premises in Northwich Date published: 15th July 2015 1.58pm

Officers from Northwich Local Policing Unit have issued a closure order on a property in Northwich following complaints from the local community.

The order was issued at 7 Binney Road, Northwich on Monday 13 July, and was the approved by Warrington Magistrates Court today (15th July). This means that the property will now be boarded up until November 2015.

Inspector Dave Snasdell, from Northwich LPU said: “The use of the legislation and the action we’ve taken supports our commitment to the communities of Northwich in dealing with problem premises and people who fail to conform to acceptable behavior. The behavior at this particular premise has blighted the local residents’ lives and I hope they can start to move forward as a result of this closure order.”

The Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Police Act 2014 came into force in October 2014 and means that officers are now able to apply for closure orders at premises where somebody is, or has been, causing distress or nuisance.

Insp Snasdell added: “Information from members of the public is vital in the fight against crime. We would urge anyone with any information in relation to drug use and supply in your community, or anti-social behavior issues to get in touch on 101. Alternatively information can be reported anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
