Collision on M62 Date published: 25th May 2017 12.24pm

On Thursday 25 May shortly before 8:45am, police were called to reports of a collision on the M62 eastbound at junction 10.

The collision involved two lorries and as a result of the incident both the eastbound and westbound carriageways were closed to allow for the air ambulance to land.

The driver of one of the vehicles was taken to Wynthenshawe Hospital via air ambulance with what is believed to be serious injuries.

The westbound carriageway was quickly reopened, however eastbound remains closed.

Drivers are urged to avoid the area and find an alternative route if possible. There are diversions in place, however drivers are being advised that there are delays in the surrounding areas.

Emergency services are working hard to reopen the motorway as soon as possible.
