Emergency services are currently dealing with localised flooding in a number of locations across Cheshire.
Following the recent heavy rain flood warnings are currently in place in the Sankey Valley and Mersey Walk areas of Warrington.Flood waters have also affected Latchford Locks, Warrington and Pool Lane, Lymm.
The heavy rain is also impacting on a the highways network, and closures are currently in place on the following roads;
• Northway , Warrington
• Densham Avenue, Warrington
• Mersey Walk, Warrington
• Bridgewater Avenue, Warrington
• Lasky Lane, Thelwall
• Thelwall New Road / Bell Lane, Thelwall
• Pool Lane, Lymm
• Ash Road/Ince Lane, Elton
Emergency plans are in place, and residents in the affected areas are advised to take extra care, and give a thought to any elderly or disabled people living in the area.
Motorists are advised not to drive through flood waters. The water is often deeper than it looks and it may be moving fast. If people do need to use their cars drivers are advised to allow extra time for travelling.
People – especially children – should not attempt to walk through flooded areas.
