Investigation continues into Runcorn murder Date published: 14th April 2016 1.28pm

The investigation in relation to the death of a 35-year-old man in Runcorn man is continuing.

Three local men, aged 52, 36 and 38, who were arrested in relation to the incident remain in police custody, all are being held on suspicion of murder.

Results from a Home Office post mortem have revealed that the victim died as a result of two puncture wounds to the lower back.

The incident was initially reported to officers at approximately 8.30pm on Tuesday 12th April when officers were called to reports of an injured man in need of medical attention, on Warrington Road, Runcorn.

Officers attended the scene and a 35-year-old injured man was taken to Whiston Hospital, but was sadly pronounced dead at approximately 10.00pm.

Formal identification of the victim has yet to take place.
