Local residents thanked following incident in Blacon Date published: 14th April 2016 11.50am

Officers from Chester Local Policing Unit have thanked local resident’s for their patience and support following an incident in Blacon.


The incident initially began at approximately 5.00pm on Wednesday 13th April 2016 when a man climbed onto the roof of a property on Stratford Road, Blacon.


Following a 10 hour stand-off the incident was brought to a safe conclusion by officers at approximately 3.00am today, Thursday 14 April, when a 26-year-old was been arrested on suspicion of affray, threats to kill and criminal damage.


The incident caused significant disruption to the local community, and a number of vehicles and buildings were also damaged. 


The police helicopter was deployed to help provide an overall picture of the scene, while firearms officers were on standby for the safety of the public and officers involved.


Police activity in the local area is expected to continue for several hours whilst officers gather evidence and clear the scene, but they are working hard to complete this work as soon as possible.
