M6 Southbound closed following serious collision Date published: 9th March 2017 5.36pm

The M6 in Cheshire currently remains closed southbound following a serious collision.

The incident, which occurred at approximately 2:30pm today, Thursday 9 March, involves two HGVs and a red Peugeot 206.

One person is believed to have sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision; they have been taken to North Staffordshire Hospital.

Emergency services remain in attendance at the scene, and the road is expected to remain closed for several hours whilst recovery work is completed.

Diversions are currently in place and motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible.
