Man arrested in relation to Halton Lodge assault Date published: 28th April 2017 10.02am

An 18-year-old man from Runcorn has been arrested in relation to a serious assault in Halton Lodge.

The man was arrested shortly after 8.30am on Thursday 27 April, on suspicion of section 18 wounding with intent; he has since been released under investigation pending further enquiries.

The arrest relates to an incident that occurred in the Whitchurch Way area at approximately 8.30pm on Thursday 6 April, where a 39-year-old man was seriously injured.

In addition to the arrest, officers have also interviewed a 16-year-old local boy and 15-year-old local boy a in relation to the incident.

Detective Inspector Clare Coleman said: “I would like to thank the local community for all of the support and information that they have provided in relation to this case, which has resulted in today’s arrest.

“While this arrest has taken place, our investigation remains on-going and I would encourage anyone with any information about the incident to contact the team here at Runcorn.”
