Officers tackling drugs crime in Crewe Date published: 15th December 2015 3.57pm

As part of Operation ImpACT officers from Crewe Local Policing Unit have today, Tuesday 15 December, conducted a series of drugs raids across the Crewe and Merseyside area.

A total of eight warrants were conducted at addresses in Crewe and Garson, leading to the arrest of seven men and one woman on suspicion of conspiracy to supply Class A drugs.

Detective Inspector Giles Pierce said: “Todays warrants were carried out as part of a carefully co-ordinated operation which was the result of months of meticulous planning, and has involved officers from across the force.

“The corrosive effect that drug abuse and associated criminality has on our communities is well known, and we are committed to tackling the problem and targeting those involved.

“Operation ImpACT reinforces the commitment that Cheshire Police  have in targeting those people that undermine our communities and bring misery to residents through their involvement in organised crime and illegal drugs.

"Information from members of the public is vital in the fight against drug related crime. We would urge anyone with any information in relation to drug use and supply in your community to get in touch on 101, or alternatively information can be reported anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
