Operation targets burglars across Cheshire and North Wales Date published: 29th July 2015 2.56pm

9 people have been arrested this morning (Wednesday 29 July 2015) as part of a joint operation targeting burglars in Cheshire and North Wales.

Today’s operation was carried out in response to a series of burglaries where high value items- including gold jewellery, has been stolen from the Asian community, other communities have also been victims.

So far 18 addresses, including properties in Ellesmere Port and Chester, have been searched and enquiries are ongoing at this time.

Detective Inspector Gwyn Dodd, From Cheshire Police’s Task Force, said, “This has been a large scale operation involving a number of forces and 140 officers, which demonstrates how seriously these offences are taken.

“We will continue to work with communities across Cheshire in order to provide reassurance and ensure they stay safe.”
