Police appeal for witnesses following sudden death in Little Leigh Date published: 24th September 2015 3.07pm

Police are appealing for witnesses to a sudden death in Little Leigh.

At 11.40am on Saturday 5th September 2015, a man was seen displaying very unusual behaviour in the carriageway of the A49 before collapsing on a grass verge where he was assisted by members of the public. He was then airlifted to hospital where he sadly died.

DC Holly Egerton said: “The death is not being treated as suspicious but in order to complete the investigation for the coroner we need to speak to everyone who saw this incident. On speaking to other witnesses we have established there may be more people who we need to speak to and would urge them to contact us on 101.”

The man who died is described as a white male, mid 30’s, medium build, with short dark hair. At the time he was wearing shorts and a long sleeved tracksuit top which is believed to have been blue and white in colour.
