Serious collision on A55 Chester Date published: 16th December 2016 5.56pm

Emergency services are currently dealing with a serious collision on the A55 in Chester.

At 4.24pm on Friday 16 December 2016 police were called to a serious collision near the posthouse roundabout on the A55.

The collision involved four cars and a lorry.

One person has sustained serious injuries and has been taken by road ambulance to Aintree Hospital. A number of other people are believed to have sustained minor injuries and are being taken to the Countess of Chester Hospital to be checked over.

There has been a road closure put in place on the A55 eastbound. There is heavy congestion as a result and drivers are advised to avoid the area and seek alternative routes.

Please note: there have been two other collisions on the A55.

At 3:45 police were called to report of an overturned vehicle, there are not believed to be any injuries and the vehicle is waiting to be recovered.

At 16:16 police were called to reports of a two vehicle collision between a lorry and a car, there are believed to be possible minor injuries as a result.
