Nine people from Runcorn have been arrested on suspicion of drugs offences following a series of dawn raids across the town.
Over the last week as part of Operation ImpACT officers have conducted seven drugs warrants at addresses across Runcorn.
The raids began on Friday 25 November when officers arrested one man and one woman at a property on Caesar’s Close. This was swiftly followed by further warrants on 27, 28 and 29 November at addresses on West Road, Churchill Mansions and Thorn Road, leading to a further three arrests.
Finally on Tuesday 2 December officers conducted another three warrants at address on Grangemoor, Sycamore Road and Davenport Row; leading to the three men and one woman. In addition to all of the arrests, officers also recovered a quantity of Class A and B drugs
Inspector Barry Brown said: “These warrants were carried out as part of a carefully co-ordinated operation. The corrosive effect that drug abuse and the associated crime have on our communities is well known and this action this morning demonstrates our commitment to tackling those involved head-on.
“This sort of behaviour can have a major impact on local communities and we have already received some very positive feedback from local residents over the actions we have taken. Drugs crime is an issue the Force takes extremely seriously and we devote all the resources we can to tracing those responsible and disrupting their behaviour.”
Anyone who has any information about drugs related crimes in their local community is urged to contact Cheshire Police on 101, alternatively information can be reported anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
